Report Racism GRT

We work with victims of discrimination, hate incidents and crime within Gypsy and Traveller communities, supporting victims and encouraging reporting of hate crime incidents. We work alongside GRT communities across Herts to promote a better understanding of the history, culture and lifestyles of Gypsies and Travellers. We closely relate with several local voluntary sector organisations to push the Gypsy /Traveller agenda.

You don’t have to be the victim to report hate, you can report on behalf of the victim/s, You don’t have to be a Gypsy Roma or Traveller to report anyone can report anti-Gypsy Roma Traveller Hate.

Everyone has a responsibility to stand up against hate, prejudice and negative stereotypes, and the government has a duty to prevent and punish discrimination and hate crimes.

44% of British adults openly express negative attitudes against Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities – more than for any other protected characteristic group. Police officers consider hate crime the most common issue Gypsies, Roma and Travellers report to them, but less than 15% of hate incidents are reported to the police. The press often shares misleading and hate-provoking messages about Gypsies, Roma and Travellers. The government’s hate crime action plan does not go far enough to prevent hate crimes against Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.
